Learning From the Dog

My attention these days is being consumed by trying to finish the hexagon quilt and keeping Gracie out of trouble.

I think Gracie is trying to tell me that I have my priorities all wrong.

  1. Instead of just browsing tatting blogs, I decided to click on the "next blog" button and your blog was two away from mine.
I'm so glad that I did, I love your hexagon quilt and your dog looks adorable!
When do you think you will finish the quilt?

    Hi Heather,

hope you're coping with this grey weather. I'm not. I'm so not used to heavy grey skies any more. We've had a few BEAUTIFUL days and I shouldn't complain but... I can understand why so many people are on anti-depressants out here. Oh, by the way, this is another of those not-for-posting messages.

I was reading the newspaper this morning and I found an article about the an textile artist/clothing designer named Kayla Kennington. Ever heard of her? She's doing a presentation at the Sewing and Crafts Show which will be held here in Victoria this weekend and also in Abbotsford on the 16th/17th. Here's the website address if you're interested.

A quilt show and competition is one of the events. You should enter next year. I'm sure you could win some money.

I'll mail the article to you. Talk to you later, Jean-Pierre

ps. I like the picture of your dog on the quilt. The space is flat and her relationship to the ground is ambiguous. The quilt pattern too is fun. Sort of like a pastiche. Maybe I should post that.

Gracie looks very comfortable in her Japonesque beehive. It's a very interesting photo because her relationship to the ground, the quilt pattern, is sort of ambiguous. I like the bright colours too. Matisse would be pleased. You could call this image something like "Luxe, Splendour and Fidelity".
